Ayesha writes "Have you ever considered the impact you as a Muslim woman has on Islam? Have you ever considered the impact you have on perceptions of non Muslims around you?
What I am talking about dear sister is that every time we step out our doors and into our community we are immediately known to be Muslim by the Hijab’s (scarves) we wear.
Have you ever thought about the small child or the elderly man that questions what we are wearing or what be believe? Sisters it is a unique honour to be in a country such as New Zealand where people know little about Islam, have you ever thought by the way you reply this person they may end up wanting to know more about Islam and may even become Muslim themselves?
Sisters this is a unique opportunity only we as Muslim women have. We are like flags for our religion. We are unique in this respect. When people ask where you get your clothes from answer honestly maybe they truly want to know. When people see you sister maybe they will look at you and wonder what is Islam? How do I become Muslim?
So next time someone in the street comes up to you and asks something... be patient and polite with them and answer honestly. "
